The Half-Logs

ReptiFish makes the half-logs by hand in 5 different sizes:

• Half-log Xsmall: 12 x 8 x 4.5 cm
• Half-log Small: 15 x 7.5 x 5 cm
• Half-log Medium: 18 x 10 x 5.5 cm
• Half-log Large: 24 x 11.5 x 7.5 cm
• Half-log Xlarge: 28 x 13.5 x 8.5 cm

Half-logs are the ideal hiding place for the aquarium and terrarium. They are handmade in Holland and are available in 5 different sizes. The structure of the half-log is copied by ReptiFish itself from trees in nature. Because we make everything by hand, every half-log is unique. The inside is smooth, and the outside of the half-log has a tree trunk structure with multiple lumps and holes.

The design of the half-logs allows your pet to feel safe but still be able to enjoy them.

Aquarium

The half-logs fit any aquarium and can be perfectly combined with real wood. Besides having a beautiful look, they can be used as hiding places for botias, catfish, lobsters, corydoras, and other fish species. We always recommend creating enough hiding places in the aquarium so that the animals feel comfortable.

Furthermore, you can also line the half-logs with different types of plants and moss species such as java moss or Anubias. To do this, use aquarium glue or fishing line to secure the plant to the logs for the first few weeks. After this, the plant will grow attached to the ornament. The half-logs will also work in the aquarium as a biological filter, as the structure of the ceramic is porous. Numerous bacteria nest in the micro-cavities that use biodegradation to rid the aquarium water of harmful substances. All in all, a great product!

Terrarium

Half-logs are widely used as hiding places for reptiles and amphibians such as frogs, geckos, bearded dragons, snakes, etc. Because they are made of ceramic, you can also use them perfectly as a damp cave or warm cave. This is because the ceramic is porous and therefore holds heat or moisture well.

Our ceramics are 100% safe for humans, animals, and the environment. Because the colour is ingrained in the clay, the colour will never disappear. This also makes them easy to clean.
