Half Coconut
Dimensions: -
Contents: 1 piece
The half coconut is a natural hiding place for small rodents, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. It also serves as a laying hole for egg-laying fish that love caves, such as catfish. The half coconut features a small gate, and the bottom is open. For a closed bottom option, consider our Coconut ¾.
Benefits
- Contributes to a natural habitat.
- Ideal hiding place.
- Plants and mosses attach well.
The half coconut enhances a tropical-natural atmosphere in your aquarium or terrarium. Its rough finish allows aquarium plants and/or mosses to adhere well to its surface. It is also used by small rodents as a retreat and hiding place.
Use
Place the coconut in the aquarium or terrarium. It may discolor the water slightly, which can be reduced by boiling it first or soaking it in water for 2 days. As a natural product, the shape and size may vary.
Fact
The coconut is technically not a nut but a drupe of the coconut palm. It is enclosed in a green husk, which is removed after harvesting, revealing the hairy coconut.
