ReptiFish makes the cichlid caves by hand in 3 different sizes:

• Cichlid Cave Xsmall: 7 x 7 x 7 cm - size of hole ca. Ø3 cm
• Cichlid Cave Small: 10 x 10 x 10 cm - size of hole ca. Ø3 cm
• Cichlid Cave Medium: 13 x 13 x 13 cm - size of hole ca. Ø3 cm

The cichlid caves are an ideal hiding place for cichlids, cherry bellies, corydoras species, catfish, and other fish species. They are handmade in the Netherlands in 3 different sizes. The structure of the cichlid caves is recreated by ReptiFish from trees found in nature. Because each cichlid cave is handmade, each item is unique.

Aquarium

The cichlid caves are perfect for most fish species. Our ceramic decorations are a great option to reduce aggression in fish and reptiles. The natural look makes it easy to combine with real wood and our ReptiFish backgrounds. Besides having a beautiful look, cichlid caves can be used as hiding places for botias, catfish, lobsters, cichlids, and other fish species.

Furthermore, you can also line it with different types of plants and moss species such as java moss or anubias. To do this, use aquarium glue or fishing line to secure the plant to the ceramic for the first few weeks. After this, the plant will grow attached to the ornament. The ceramic ornaments will also work in the aquarium as a biological filter since the structure of the ceramic is porous. The micro-cavities are home to numerous bacteria that use biodegradation to rid the aquarium water of pollutants. All in all, a great product!

Terrarium

Cichlid caves are widely used as hiding places for reptiles and amphibians such as frogs, geckos, and other species. Because they are made of ceramic, you can also use them perfectly as a humid cave or warm cave. This is because ceramics are porous and therefore hold heat or moisture well.

Durable Ceramics

Our ceramics are 100% safe for humans, animals, and the environment. They have a long lifespan and are handmade from ceramic. Because the colour is ingrained in the clay, the colour will never disappear. This also makes them easy to clean. Cleaning is easy with a soft sponge and warm water. The decoration is made of ceramic, a well-known environmentally friendly material. We do not use plastic or other slowly decomposing materials. Furthermore, ceramic decorations last an extremely long time. In short, a sustainable product in all aspects!
