XXL Breeding Caves

ReptiFish makes XXL breeding caves in brown and red colours.

XXL breeding caves are handmade in the Netherlands and are designed for larger L-numbers and catfish. Our ReptiFish Breeding caves are made of specially selected clay which is safe for humans, animals, and nature. They are available in terracotta red and brown and are open at the front and closed at the back. The XXL breeding caves have a flat bottom so they will not roll around in the aquarium.

Aquarium

The XXL breeding caves are used for breeding larger L-numbers up to 22 cm but are also an ideal hiding place for larger catfish, crayfish, botias, and other fish species.

For breeding L-numbers, we recommend using several shapes and sizes so that the L-numbers can choose for themselves which one they like best. Besides the XXL caves, we also have rectangular caves, round caves, triangle caves, catfish caves, and mixcolour caves. L-numbers will choose a cave not much bigger than themselves, so take this into account when buying. Also, try placing the breeding caves in different flow directions, as the fish will appreciate this. If you don’t want to breed fish, caves are also very fine hiding places for botias, large crayfish, large shrimps, catfish, etc.

L-numbers

• The XXL cave is suitable for the largest L-numbers up to 22 cm, such as L075, L081, L128, and L200.

Terrarium

The XXL breeding cave can also be used as a shelter for various reptiles and amphibians such as frogs and geckos. As ceramic is porous, it absorbs moisture and heat, making it perfect for use as a moist or warm shelter.

Durable Ceramic

Our ceramics are 100% safe for humans, animals, and the environment. The breeding caves have a long lifespan and are handmade from ceramic. As the colour is ingrained in the clay, the colour will never disappear. This also makes the Breeding caves easy to clean. Cleaning is easy with a soft sponge and warm water.
