The basins are intended to be buried in sand, gravel, or other substrate. When buried, they are very stable and almost impossible to overturn. Each water basin has a natural slope, allowing feeder animals to easily climb out. The water basins are treated to prevent the development of harmful bacteria and to facilitate cleaning.
